Hi

Does anyone know if styrofoam is reef safe?
Basically looking for something that floats.

I don't know whether it's reef safe but some vendors will rubber band corals to a piece of styrofoam so that it stays a float with the frag underwater.

it breaks down over time. Its ok for temporary things but over time not so good.

what are you using it for?

to hold up egg crate. more so for extra support in case it gets too heavy.
