Honestly though I think most of us are very spoiled with the prices we pay for livestock. There is a sucker born every minute and it is these types of stores that prey on those types of people. A free line of s&*# with every purchase I'm sure.

There are limited stores out in Suffolk County and some of them are overpriced, others reasonable and others cheap.

Typical buyer beware type senarios.

What exactly was their wording of the reasoning for their pricing?

I've heard shipping (direct ship)-- rare specimen (when in reality the item in question was common) etc.

I often wonder the logic behind such businesses though. I would think selling multiple items for less and only profiting a bit on each, would keep people coming back. Rather than sell one item for the same profit of selling for example five.

Ahh the early days of just starting the hobby. Its sad that these places take advantage of newbies, but I like probably everybody on MR has learned the hardway. Readup/research and patience is the way to go in this hobby.

Pinkheine - Yes there are few stores out here but even the over priced ones dont charge those kinds of prices. Maybe 15-25% of average prices.
