My cpr refugium has not been able to push out as much water as it has been taking in. When i plug in the mini-jet 606 the water level slowly rises and i disconnect it before it spills over the top. I even took some lr out and it still raises until it would eventually pour over. The fuge had been working fine for about 3 weeks with the mini 606 after the last pump burned out which was a rio. Is the mini pushing to much water in? do i need a 404?

I have that fuge, and taking off the plumbing shouldnt have an effect on it. Thats really weird. You checked the plumbing for any blockages or something? It works on gravity, and the return plumbing should be large enough to use a 606. Hmmm....

when i was turning the lights off i looked inside and saw a turbo snail crawling into the refugium from the return. Is there anyway i can prevent snails from crawling into the return.

OMG Flashbacks of horror from my 55 overflowing almost 10 gallons of water onto my floor and through my downstairs neighbor's ceiling.

Cut egg crate int a small enough piece to cover that return on the inside of the tank and inside the fuge. If a snail gets stuck in there it will clog the return and cause the pump to keep pumping water into the fuge and eventually overflowing over the sides of the fuge onto the floor and causing you some big big big big big problems!

If you look to the top of the pic you can see how I covered the return in the tank. Egg crate and some wire ties.
