More RO/DI ?'s - setting up

I bought this Aquatic Reef Sytems 50 GPD.
I have the unit tuned to 20 seconds of waste water (8 oz cup) - 82 seconds of product. PSI is about 50.
Is this good timing?

? # 2:
When running, is the DI section suposse to fill up with water?
I don't see it fill up, but I am getting product water with good readings (.001)

? # 3:
I have a flush valve from another unit (pictured below). Would this be ok to install?
Where? (Between the waste tube coming out of the membrane & the flow restrictor?)

Stupid ? # 4:
I posted a pic of the replacment filters that were included. Is the brown one DI?:shhh:

well back to the DI, i remember reading somewhere not to count on the color changes as an indicator of when the DI is "exhausted".it might change color prematurely, but it will still be able to do the job.the real indicator would be a change in your TDS reading, which is why it's important to have one for your RO/DI.

I'm getting a reading of 1 - 2 ppm. So I will probably be changing all the filters soon to get a 0 reading.

My DI chamber did the same Albert. I was told to close the DI output until the chamber filled up then release the flow. I don't know if it's good or bad though.

i tried that. once i released, the water level slowly fell again.

1. Your timing indicates a 4:1 ratio - you're in good shape here.
2. While the unit is running unscrew the vertical DI housing about a 1/4 turn to allow the trapped air to escape. Watch carefully as the water in the housing rises - when it approaches the black rubber oring cinch it closed.
3. I believe the flush valve you show has a built in flow restrictor. If that is the case, you'll need to make sure it is matched to your membrane, and that you remove the existing flow restrictor from your system. It would then be installed in the waste line.
4. Yes, the brown one is the DI cartridge. The "brown stuff" is the DI resin.
