aquatraders T5 lighting?

Im trying to set up a new 125 in my new apt. I was contemplating a fairly low wattage decent option, where i have options with corals and a fairly low bill.

I found this on a site and know there a questionable company, but had some success with their MH lighting so assume this wont be a big deal, and worst case change the ballast.

here is the link, only thing is that it keeps going back and forth saying T5 and T6 and curious if this is how the cost is down.

Please let me know, if anyone has an idea

I also wondered why the cost is so low but it is exactly what I am looking for and I am contemplating buying one.

I been using their MH for over 3 years now w/out any problems.

I have a friend who used that fixture. the worst part is all their fixtures have bad cooling systems. you should add fans. the heat is what causes lower bulb life and ballast problems

alot of people buy the Mh fixture and change out the ballast ...
but for T5's...no indiv. reflectors and cheap bulbs makes it the weak point...

the fire issue is a rep they have from there old magnetic ballasts in their MH systems. I honestly had their MH system on 2 seperate occasions and had absolutely no problems with it, it worked great so im tempted to buy this and worst case change the ballast

I see what you mean. I think the graphic on the site is just old.

Everywhere it says T5 is text on the page. The T6 in the picture is harder to change. True not that hard, but you need to edit the picture, where the text anyone can just type in the HTML of the site.

I have had good experiences with Aquatraders. I had a 72" CF running for 8 months before I switched over to a coral life MH fixture, and I currently have a 30" MH running on a frag tank for about 3 months. Both work just fine. No fires yet.

I would call them to clarify the T5 and T6 issues. T6 bulbs would be harder to get for "our" application if that is the only option...

You may also want to first check the MR MarketPlace for a used fixture.

T6 is NOT anything like T5,just a knock off and pretty much the same as PC lighting.

I think im going to email them to Find out if it T5 or T6, because i'd be pretty PO'd to get it and find out its T6

Ive been checking Market daily, its just im moving into new place soon and want a light so my corals wont die and have limited time and selling old setup, so basically want to plan ahead

Dude, your the man thanks for the info, ill call tommorow and post info, and if I get it the results maybe are fellw reefers can save a buck
