tek t5 troubleshooting

I just bought a tek t5 6 x 54 W light for my tank. When I installed the lights, the 4 middle lights turned on just fine, but the 2 end ones did not. I tried moving the lights around and the bulbs were fine. I also checked the ballast by putting 2 white light on them, and they also work just fine. But every time I put the blue lights on each end, they won't turn on at all. Not even a flicker.
Did anyone have the same problem. I hate to have to ship it back out and have to wait 3 days again.

If it is a new fixture, I'd send it back. You shouldn't have to be doing anything to make it work except for plugging it in.
If there is an electrical issue inside of it, best they replace it. No point in asking for trouble.


In the scope of things..3 days isn't a long time to guarantee your safety

try rotating the bulbs for some reason that worked with my fixture

I tried that too. It is getting frustrating.

I have a 75 gallon tank. I just started, so I only have live rocks in my tank. No fish or corals yet. The tank is still cycling.

i had the same problem with a 8 bulb tek fixture. that usually happens right before the ballast goes completely out. just send it back there aint no fixing it

Ahhh...good, then you don't need the lights right now anyway...please exchange them for a set that works properly!!
