i was wondering if anyone had some advice,i have a 265g glass aquarium,it dont have any manufactor labels.i want to drill the back of it but not sure if the sides are tempered...any one know how to tell if its tempered or not
Put on a pair of POLARIZED sunglasses. Look at the bottom glass. I'm almost 100% certain it is tempered. Then look at the rest of the glass. If the back glass looks the same as the bottom with the sunglasses on, then it is tempered too.
Or just look at the windshield on a car using the polarized sunglasses, that glass is tempered too. You will see the pattern in the glass indicating it is tempered. Then check your tank and see if you see the pattern there. If not, then it's not tempered.
If you know the manufacturer call them - Most tanks are tempered on the bottom but not the sides or back. I would definitely call the manufacturer. I have a 240 and just drilled mine. I called the people who made my tank to verify if it was tempered.
unfourtunally dont know who made it..no labels on the tank...gona try the sunglasses though...i really dont want to have to use overflow boxes...
thanks
