how long would you use your top off water for?

My question is how long would you leave you RO/DI water sitting aroung in a pail of course and covered before you would have to worry ..I emptied my 20 Gallon Brute pail today and the botton was slimey its only been a little over a week is that normal ??Thanks Sal

i try to wipe it down regularly. its normal after a while but shouldnt be if u wipe it down n rinse regularly.
