RESEREVED FOR A HAPPY CLAM PHOTO.
lol.. i will wait for the lights to turn on and post a pic..
and yes.. Kigs did an AWESOME thing.. a VERY AWESOME THING!! when i was unpacking.. i freaked out.. because i bought the clam very last minute.. from ssdlm5.. he came out of the blue and put a bag in my face very last minute.. it was cold and looked like he was draggin it around for a while.... he said here's your clam that you wanted.. i was like.. huh????
i was like.. oH ok.. that was that green silver teardrop i wanted?? oh ok.. it was a surprise.. becasue i liked him alot and wanted him.. i dont know why?? i just love clams... i think mostly becasue 15 years ago when i failed miserably at this hobby time and time again.. all i wanted was a clam to live.. and they never lived for me?? so it is a personal thing with clams.. also .. he is a beautiful clam... anwyays.. i took him shoved him on the top of my already overfilled box near the heat pack.. and then put all the boxes on a cart and wheeled them out..
well..
he must have slipped out somewhere along the line.. but i never realized where.. or didnt even know till i got back.. i was pretty upset.. i ransacked EVERYTHING.. the back of the truck.. the seats.. the boxes the trash.. i was just thinking about this poor clam sitting in the cold or on the floor or someone stepped on him.. or maybe someone who doesnt know about fish found this clam on the floor and had no clue what to do with it?? i was just worried for this clam.. i mean what did he do to anyone?? lol.. I didnt even care about getting him back.. i was just hoping.. he found a nice safe home.. to be honest.. i didnt expect to see him again.
But when kigs answered.. like.. your the one??.. i was like.. now. THAT IS COOL.. that is really cool.. so i drove out that night to grab my buddy from him. he was in a bigger bag.. i was like.. uh oh.. that isnt him.. someone else lost a clam??? but then he told me russ and jim rebagged him.. THANK YOU RUSS AND JIM!!! by the way.. Kigs has an AWESOME tank too.. his tank collection is really impressive.. i couldnt thank him enough.. all he kept saying was.. im sure anyone else would have done it.. and all i kept saying was.. yea.. i'm not too sure about that statement.. especially in a world like today.
it was an AWESOME display of honesty and just a really great display of good will! Treat your fellow reefer like you would want to be treated.. treat your fellow human like you wish to be treated.. that is what i alwasy say.. i dont know how.. or when.. or what?? but i wanted to give him something to say thank you.. i brought him a frag.. but it still doesnt equal to the show of kindness and honesty i feel.. even thought the clam was my friend.. and wasn't that expensive.. it was the show of kindness that was worth 10 times more in my eyes of any dollar amount.. only if the rest of the world .. were more like the MR reef community.
Thanks once again. It meant alot.. in more ways than one.. and i am very thankful that i was apart of that expierence.. becasuse.. well.. sometimes i just wonder... If you ask me.. this is a story that symbolizes the TRUE MEANING of the word HOBBY.. out side of the business and numbers and all the rest of the nonsesne that sometimes goes on.. this was a story of the HOBBY not the business that everyone should read.
and for this.. i am thankful.. becasue that is what I believe in. the hobby.
