I like running a topless tank. Eggcrate looks ugly and the screen going across the top of the tank gets in the way since you have to remove it all the time and if your fixture has legs its really annoying. So I took a trip to HD and can up with the following:
This is a fiber screen normally used to make window/door screens. Comes in 36" and 48"
Basic Velcro
Cut to size and you end up with something like this:
I dont have the pictures, but I put the netting on the side aswell. I set it up so I could push the fixture back for feeding/messing around without the netting pulling.
So everything is covered except the front, but its better than nothing. I lost my 6line and firefish last week to the back of the tank.
