Natural sand for frag tank

Looking to cover the bottom of a new frag tank with 1/2" of sand.
Anything to be concerned about if I use sand from Shinnicock Inlet.

Is the any cleaning that I should do , or can I go straight from the beach to the tank.

The tank will hold Favia's and Chalises and is only 14 gallons, got it from WWF.
If I get more than 5 responses I will post some pics.....

I wouldn't put any sand in a frag tank you want it as simple as possible.
