Question about routing my UV sterilizer...

I have my old 25 watt unit off my old tank and want to run it ...would this work... I want to keep it out of view in my cabinet ,run it on its side pulling water from my sump where the water drains into ,then routing the un return back into the same chamber so I do not run that section dry ...basically making one big circle in the same area of the sump...Does that sound ok to do ?? Only reason I am not putting it inline with my return is this is a RR tank and all plumbing has been ran already ...Thanks ,Sal
