Don't mean to bum you out, but if he's really a scammer, Paypal can't do crap.
They'll recover your money no problem, IF AND ONLY IF, he's left it in his Paypal account. If he's a real scammer, he would have cleaned out his account. Then Paypal can't do jack.

If you paid through Paypal via a credit card, go through the credit card instead. They are much more consumer friendly than paypal..
Best of luck/

thx for the headsup. I'll contact chase.

i caught the dude online on nanoreef and pm'd him.

He said its en route in Dayton,Ohio but didn't supply a tracking # from FEDEX again.

HMM, he's a bit fishy always hiding this fedex tracking #.

Hungiree,

I really hope it works out for you. Personally I always assume the best in people and put my trust in them but when things like this happen it really makes me think twice.

Not sure about your CC bank but I've had great customer service when I had a fraudulent charge on mine... I understand that this isn't quite the same but they may be able to put a hold or something on the transaction? Again, it might not hurt to just call them, explain the situation and see what they can do.

Best of luck.

You should call your credit card company. I had someone not ship me something and refused refund. Paypal sucks so just call Chase and let them know what is going on. As long as you aren't doing this all the time they will refund the money and that will be that.

Did you file a complaint with the ICCC?

Hey Chief

just saw your comment - ill do that now.

on a side note thanks everyone. MR is what ny and nj reefers are about - i def feel the spirit and support.

I contacted chase and they will begin investigating the situation and will most likely credit the amount back to my credit card once i complete a few documentation through the mail. :birthday:

I hope it works out for you but as a rule I never use Paypal directly, only with my credit card, unless the amount is negligble or I personally know the seller. I've had similar issues like you and it took too much stress to get it resolved, barely. Paypal is a great service only until something goes wrong. Generally they lean towards the seller ( at least if its a large account ). The burden of proof and then some is on the buyer, and they don't really give you much to work with. Case in point - the 1 claim per transaction business. Another is their short statue of limitations on filing a claim.
