If given the choice between 196watts of PC and 156watts of T5 lighting which one would you go with? I have various softee and zoas only. Your advise would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
and total wattage doesnt always mean more light, the way the light is used makes a difference also, a good t5 will have individual reflectors making the most out of the light
Ive had PC, Metal halide, VHO and T5. I beleieve MH is the best as far as intensity and gives the best replication of sunlight, however T5 is a close second due to the amount of options as far as color choices. I recently bought a cheap aquatraders t5 light and changed the bulbs to geisman and am absolutely blown away by the color spectrum. It brongs out greens as well as the phoenix MH light and reds and orange come out aswell. I dont believe PC has half the options in this regard.
Sorry for all the irrelevant info, just have been researching this alot and from first hand experience am a new believer in t5 as the top reef light on the market for all reefs BESIDES dominantly SPS reefs which is a bit controversial but have seen some do this with great success. If you have any ??'s as far as bulb choice please feel free to pm me because I have been messing around with a few combinations and got a reel good one currently using a combo of Geismann t5's I got from a reefcentral thread and is awsome
