Red Algae...

what snails... my tank's been up for about 3 months noW and how much flow do i need :afro: i haVe 1 powerhead and a hang-on power filter doing 200gph

you mean cyano bacteria? it is not an algae at all. you need to up your flow, and feed less. try adding a jbj powerhead to the one you have, they have really cool powerheads that you can change to two outputs, and they are pretty cheap.

ok... i'LL add aNother powerhead... the red 'algae' i am referring to is kinda like a red film (thin) over some rocks... and on one, it even had bubbles under it... :sgrin: cReepY

aM almost afraid to add another powerhead coZ it might bloW everyone away... or maKe it oo wavy... is there suCh a thiNg ?

I was heard cutting photoperiod will help as well, besides what inline6 and jennie said above.
