Can I use 150W bulbs on a 175W ballast?

I think I know the answer, which is no, but wanted to make sure.

I bought 150W bulbs by mistake. darnit.

PS - they are phoenix bulbs 150W and a ARO ballast 175W

Unfortunately, NO.

175watt is for Mogul Base Bulbs.

Phoenix are an HQI DE bulb and require and HQI to ballast to fire and run properly.

A 175 watt electronic ballast will run DE 150 HQI bulbs as well as 175 w SE bulbs.
