Thinking about upgrading my reef tank, I'm looking to get a 120gallon tank. Is it worth getting starphire glass for the front of the tank or not? It's about $100 more for the upgrade. Also, is anyone familiar with the company Glass Cages, are they reputable?

Starphire is well worth it...but it scratches easier(b/c it is a softer glass-low iron)...and ive heard horror stories about glasscages, and a few good stories about them. They are the cheapest for a reason...I would be very careful when ordering from them.
Best of luck

Ive Had 3 Or 4 Tanks From Them, Other Then Sloppy Looking Silicone They Make Decent Tanks, Great For The Price, And If Going Through Them Definately Get The Starfire Glass, Their Regular Glass Is Really Greenish{ Current Tank Is From Them }

The best recommendation I can offer about Glass Cages is to buy their stock tanks. Any tank that requires work that can be considered 'custom' (even small changes to their stock tank) can result in a nightmarish experience. Please take note everyone, I said "CAN" result in a nightmarish experience, not WILL result in such an experience.

Buyer beware with GC.

I'm going to back up the people that said glasscages has sloppy silicone. There tank prices are great, and the tanks themselves are fine, but the level of detail leaves a lot to be desired.

My last tank had crappy silicone and the black plastic runner around the tank came off after a month (was impossible to get back on at that point).

You can't beat the price though, but you'll definitely be sacrificing quality.

1) Glass Cages uses "low iron" glass not the Starphire brand which is noticeably different.

2) Glass Cages is ignorant in terms of "wet side" & "dry side" when assembling tanks. When they assemble the panes backwards, you have a 90% chance of "pitting" on the glass.

I know because I have 2 of their tanks :D
