I just added one cromis and the tank did not spike up the anommia is 0 and the nitrates and nitrite are all 0 so the ph is about 7.8 whick I know i have to add a little ph buffer inorder to bring the ph back up to 8 81 so the salt is in the right area and i just hooked up my ro di unit so i am excited about that. When do you think I should take out the carbon cartrage that has been in the tank since I bought it, I would like to know if i take that out now and replace that with chemi pure will that screw up the bio load and yes i did add the live sand aobut 30 pounds of it.
i wouldnt add any buffers to the set up.your ph might be low due to alk.get the 2part to adjust it that way.make sure you test your alk and calcium before adding the 2 part though.many of us including me do not add any of those chemicals to our systems.what do u call the right area for salt.i keep mine around1.024 to 25.what size is your tank and why do u want to take out carbon.and adding live stock to your tank will not help any in cycling your tank.it will only make your fish suffer a horrid death.
