Hey to all and Happy Holidays!

I lost power in my apartment tonight for about an hour and I'm having trouble starting up my CS Overflow unit. It just won't start. I can't get the water to drain to the sump. Any ideas? I've had it up and running for so long that I think I've forgotten some crucial info. I need help!

Thanks

I filled up the narrow back section and nothing is clogged. It just won't start to trickle over for me. I can't get the waterfall effect going. It might be because of some air in the overflow. The part that bends over my tank into the back of the overflow is not filled with water all the way, just the bottom and I can't get it filled. When I look at the back narrow section that's filled with water I can see a rippling effect on the water but it won't flow over.

not to be a ass or anything but I would just go with a simple u-tube design.. I have one (amiracle) and it's GREAT! Never ever loose's siphon!

I have heard of people having problems with CPR overflows, not the most reliable from my studying...

Make sure the nipple on top of overflow isn't clogged. Take a toothpick and ream it to clear any obstruction. The pump diaphram might also be shot. They do go over time. Mine did and I had somewhat of the same problem. They are about 3$ . Order two as to have one on hand in case of an emergency.

The pump seems fine. I cleared all airways and it seems to be pumping out a good amount of air. I've only had it for about 1 year. I used to have the u-tube overflow but hated how bulky it was in the tank. I still keep it as a backup and it looks like I might have to use it. Dang!

When I first set this overflow up I had the same problem in getting it started. It's been so long that I can't remember what I did to get it started :irked::splitspin:irked:

Yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyes! I fixed it and now I feel so stupid. I had to buy a new pump. I think the one I had was flooded after the power loss but now I've hooked up a valve on the line so it shouldn't happen again. Thanks to all for your input :)
