Thought I'd just write down some things I've noticed in my Xenia over the last few days-

1) They 'grab' a lot more when the main lights go off or when there is less flow

2) The seem to stop, or at least reduce activity when strong flow and/or lights are bright and stretch wide open, like they are trying to gather as much light as possible.

I guess they tend to 'grab' more when they are under conditions that would not allow them to get enough 'food'- they stretch open to create more surface area when lights are bright.

They were grabbing like crazy when stressed at the frag swap in that wide bucket.

And they smell bad. (not that i notice in my tank- just when they were bagged- yuck.)

Some of them pulse according to the PH level, so you might want to do a PH test during the day and at night to see if this is correct for your particular species.

I noticed the same thing as Reefer did. Low flor meant a lot more pulsing. Now mine are in decent flow and still pusle so I'm back with the PH level thing. It's a neat coral to have if the whole PH thing is true.
