i have the sunsystem tek light 4x39w but it just isnt doing it for my sps.what i am thinking is getting this coralife 150w mh clamp-on to add with my t-5s.i only want the mh to be over my sps.i like the way the t-5s makes my whole setup look so i dont want to get rid of it.i will only keep the mh on for 2 to 4 hours a day just to suppliment the lights for sps.does this sound like a good idea..any feedback will be appreciated :inlove:

well i figured id slide the tek light forward and that will give me 6 inches of open space.it does have individual reflectors and i dont know how to over drive and im nervous when it comes to messing with electric.its a clip-on mh so id figure id clip it to the back of the tank.dont think thats a good plan.

duke it's pretty easy to do, you would need to open that fixture up and take factory ballast out and just wire the 660 in, trust me it's a world of a difference, trust me

nope the 1 ballast will drive all 4 36" bulbs, unless you put a timer or switch in-line they will all come on at same time, duke i ran t5's for 2 yr's on sps dominated tanks and loved them, and still would be using if it wasnt going to cost me more to switch over then my mh fixture cost

see thats what i dont like then.i like my lights to come on 2 at a time.so i would need to put a timer switch in.this is complicating me.i would try this if i had someone to walk me through it.i looked on line and the icecap 660 costs 150 dollars and now i have to figure out where to get a timer switch and how to hook that up.ill look on here for a used icecap ballast maybe ill get lucky and ill also look if there is a timer switch for sale.if its not to much trouble noob can you maybe attach a link to how this is all done so i am not so confused.....thats a miracle for me not to be :lol2:

Wiring diagrams for Icecap ballasts are available on line, try google.
Timers are sold in many stores, they cost about $7. You only need to plug the ballast into them. :spin:
From what I have seen, you will pay close to full price for even a used Icecap 660 ballast. They hold their value.
