sound like u had some type of die-off .do u have a timer that controls your light.check to see if it stopped and restarted.maybe there was a power failure
Same happened with me 24 nano cube tank too small to keep water quality good.
My clown fish was doing fine in that water but corals and invertibles had a big problem.
It happened within 3 or 4 hours.
I changed water 40% after 1 hour again 40% after 1 hour 20% and kept changing until water clears every time adjust ph and all parameters thanks God saved most of the corals. Your problem is ammonia you have to get rid of it as soon as possible if you don?t have enough water go and buy like Poland spring or other water change as many times as possible to get clear water first.
Those f..king nano cubes are to small and every time they crash I upgraded my to 90g
Do them until your ammonia is zero. Maybe can you post a pic of the vial looks like next to the color card for ammonia?
Do you have any Alk & Ca numbers?
When did you get the clownfish & from where?
In the first pic (from a week ago)..what is the blue thing in the lower left corner?
wow that realy realy sucks and im sorry to hear that. i never had a crash but two of my snails died (hermit attack.) and i took them out about 2 days after i never saw them. and they stunk. my params were off. what i did was put all the corals in a small container. and the did a 80% or 90% water change. i then re-acclimated everything and then took the out the bag and put them back in. the next day params were good and its been all up hill since them. i did also do a 20% water change later that week.
nothing is stuck in the overflow. the blue thing is a sponge and it was slowly receding and i thought it might have something to do with the crash, so i scrubbed the sponge off in a separate container.
the thing is, it has been receding for a while now, and nothing. maybe it was a combination of things that went wrong...
doing that big of a water change 60 to 90 % can shock a system .due what everyone said.a 20% water change and carbon that should help your system return to normal in a week or 2.

cool thanks for that. :splitspin. i didnt know you could shock the system i just normally worry about the corals... to the o.p. dont do a big change like i did lol.
I see you're in Murray Hill...if you are in a bind for water you can always get the 5gallon purified seawater from PetCo in Union Sq...I use it and it comes in very handy. Good luck man
kathy wont a large water change shock his system.i know ammonia needs to be 0 wouldnt the carbon help that out including a 20% water change.not to mention he wont have time to warm up all that water.
after the first water change, some of the zoas started to open up. i did a 2nd 20% water change just now and i'm going to sleep. too tired after dealing with this from 7pm- 1230am. i figured a 2nd 20% water change won't be too drastic since it'll only export 16% old water.
i wont do another water change until sunday, as duke suggested. thanks for replying to me duke. uve been a great help as have everyone here. I will post updates when i get back from work tomorrow.
