want to know what the best chiller is? I get several different reports depending on who you talk with.

That is not exactly sound advise...

Michael, how big of a chiller do you require? What scale are we talking here?

i like my current 1\10th hp it has a plug in the back for the heater to plug into which if temp drops it turns heater on. dont need a temp control device with this model, some others i think have it also. btw been using mine 2 yrs straight with no problems

I have a current 1/10th too. My buddy uses a current 1/15th. The quality is good for the price. The currents require a LOT of flow (think 300-600 GPH!).

I have read some negative comments on JBJ chillers.

You really need to look at a tradewind chiller....these are american made have the best condensors on the market and have a great warranty....3 years extendable to 5.

What about chillers for small tanks?
What about the cost to run them?
Are some more effecient then others but cost more?
