It comes with 2 cords, one controls the 2 bulbs, outside, and the other controls the 4 inside bulbs. Your is less because it's a 4 bulb fixture and this is a 6 bulb fixture plus there are 10 bulbs in mine. On the post there is the demention of the fixture, which is similar to say a 2 bulb 55watt PC lights. It probably a little larger than the 4 bulb T-5 fixture but you need to look at the specs. I'm not sure what size tank you have but for clams you need alot of light.

Alot of people got the 4 bulb fixture and then later upgrade to the 6 as it wasn't enough.

When I upgraded my tank, I bought a complete setup, and it came with the full light set of MH and VHO built into the canop. So the lights have been sitting on the floor since the March or so. I had them for about 2 months and T-5 bulbs last for about 1 1/2 - 2 years. They're good for sps, clams and corals that need alot of light, my lps and softies didn't like the lights as T-5 are pretty strong, but other people haven't had that problem. Also I had a 35 hex and the lights where right on top of the tank so they where really concentrated and that may have been the problem.

i see ,,my tankis 21 x 21 x 14 H ,,,so corals will be only 14 ichs below this ,,but they wil be hopefully not long in the tank ,i dont want to have a prob with the lights being to strong for the corals ,,
most of the stuff i will be getting ,are clams ,lsp ,zoos (lots) ,and mybe some sps,,,if i can get a good hook up for it ,and will live in my tanks

Most people don't place the light fixture right on top of the tank. They usally either place it in a canop, so they can also place a fan, or hang the light like a pendent.

David that why I went with the 6 bulbs because everyone that purchased the 4 bulbs later said they should have gone with the 6.

Watch out for heat, even though T-5 don't give off as much as MH or PC they do give off heat and 4 bulbs right on top of a tank could push the temp up.

You may want to check this out but I think you can buy legs for the fixture so the lights don't sit right on top of the tank.
