i guess the benifit is you dont need to do that whole inline thing
just drop it in and the return water will got rite to the sump which will go back to tank with the return pump.
i guess it saves you some hassle

wow ,,,i have a ev 180 that sux ,does nada ,,i called aqua c they are sending me a new for free,i sent them pics and all but yet they cant seem to find why my skimmer is not skimming
i would try ASM g3 if it can fit ,or a lifereef skimmer

oh yeah ,,plug and play(as Frogman says) ,,very IMPORTANT ...make sure you get one you dont have to fiddle with ,

Mike, most skimmers are seriously overrated in their skimming capabilities (keep this in mind) There is NO drawback to "overskimming" and you will be thankful later down the road when your tank is nice and clean without much effort :)

in sump models are easier to setup but require a submersible pump which is just something extra to clean. Also, I am not aware of in sump pumps that are pressure rated for certain skimmer needs (if you decide to go with a beckett skimmer)

For the money I definitely like the ASM g3 or larger for a 90 gal.

There is NO drawback to "overskimming" ...i think i remember u saying that some other time too, well thats wat i had in mind, more skimming!

don, i have a diy skimmer that david made, works great, i get bout a cup a day of dark goo.

seems the asm is of choice...

mike if you looking for a good in sump skimmer that is plug and play. look at the deltec turbo 1250. i bought one about 2 weeks ago and it work great. pulls pleanty of nog. also very quiet.

just bought a used caravan, sorry albert was supposed to confirm a meet, had to do this, rain chk plz, thxs...its first road trip is to p/u my 90G.....skimmer is next.

thxs D will look into the g3.

That skimmer is almost $600. There is a cheaper version of that skimmer (can't remember the name) that Herman bought for his tank. Hopefully he'll chime in.
