doing some research on sand i came across some OLD links about very good sand at hd. anyone know if it is still available? brand was yardright and old castle. as i said very old threads

They are talking about southdown sand BTW. Sorry for the short response before I typed more................don't know what happened.
Marteen is correct, it was relabeled a few years ago. now it is known as old castle.
you can also still find it at some HD locations but it will say that it is not for aquarium use , only as play sand. If you go back to some of those old threads you will find a sku which corresponds to the sand that you are looking for (southdown) and check it against the sku at the HD that you frequent. Also be mindful that the sand might not be readily available this time of year, you can start your search around april, when they start bringing out the spring items (ponds,trees etc..)
by the way I saw some this past summer (2008) at the HD in woodbridge NJ.
