the advantage is : you can go with a realy high flow w/ worrying about flooding.

CL's have there good points and bad

good

lots of flow
as many returns as you want
no power heads in the tank
totally custom

bad
can put heat in the tank (but so can certain PH's)
pumps use more electric than most PH's
can't change them as easy as a PH
possible more noise from the external pumps
if not done properly plumbing can leak

I have both CL and Tunze on my tank.

they also have black pipes and spaflex

maybe to get black pipes, they have to add coloring to the pvc materials, which intern cost more. Pipes are usually hidden in walls so why would you color a pipe you don't see, it will just add cost to the buyer. that's what i think IMHO.

I used black pvc to bring my return line and CL lines in and out of the tank.
you can't see them against the black background.

a can of Krylon Fusion Black spraypaint will work too.

yes, but the paint will come off if you ever try to scrape algae or what not off your fittings.

think this stuff is made for plastic. I'm planning to use it, i give you an update but heard good things about it.

the paint will definitely work, just if you go to scrape anything off the fittings or pipes you'll scratch through to the white pvc.

ink you don't need to do that. tell us what you want to set up and we'll come up with a parts list.
