Hi folks.

I'm in the process of collating some figures for a future presentation and need the help of you fine reef keepers.

What I'm interested in knowing is exactly how many of us who keep reef tanks have actually dived or snorkeled a tropical reef.

so, voting fingers at the ready and away we go.....No shame if you haven't. please vote truthfully, its all in the interests of science as they say and the No's are just as important as the yeses..

I have snorkeled in Hawaii. I've been SCUBA diving (wet) in Zanzibar and off the north coast of Venezuela. I've been diving (dry) off the coast of California near Monterey. Not a TROPICAL reef but quite reeflike nevertheless.

I have been diving for almost 20 years. Have done well over 1000 dives and worked as a dive instructor in the late 90s. Have dove Australia, Fiji, Cooke Islands, Solomons, Palau, Kiribati, Tonga, Hawaii, Bahamas, Galapagos, Cozumel, Lake Malawi, Lake Tanganyika Florida, Long Island wreck diving, North Carolina wrecks. My diving goal for the remainder of my diving life is to the Red Sea and dry dive in Alaska.

Keys, various places in the Caribbean. St John by far the best but I can see the impact they all have taken from man. Would love to find a "pristine" reef.

Not yet, but i'm heading to the Florida Keys with my wife in two weeks. We plan on snorkeling and taking a diving class. Any advice is welcome.
