Ok well I bit the bullet and ordered a Seio 1500 today from Tony at Acropora.net. Should be here sometime soon next week I'm guessing. Right now i have 3 powerheads in my tank I hope to get replaced by the seio. The return is a mag 7 and points to the right side of the tank but can be point anywhere on the right half of the tank. I was wondering where you guys would put the seio? Would you put it on the back wall the hit the front glass or would you put it on the left side to hit the glass on the right??

Wow!! :bigeyes2: A seio 1500 in a 65g with sand?!? You're gonna have to deflect that flow a few times. My 2 820s are pointed diagonally towards the front of the tank so that they intersect before hitting the front glass. I don't have a sandstorm, but the sand below the intersect point is getting pushed out of the way. Good luck keeping the flow off of the LPS.

Just make sure you can get to it for cleaning, you will need to with Seios. Try maximizing the flow path within your tank, mounting the pump on one end and pointing it at the opposite end without hitting any corals in the path.

Got it, how often would you say I should do a routine cleaning? I'll let it go from left to right, thats the one way I can mount it without having it touch any coral all the way there.

Ricky, Thats where I got the idea from, you and Rich ;). I would have never thought about putting a 1500 in this tank, until I saw your tanks.
