I'm fairly new to Manhatten Reefs, and so far really enjoying the pictures and the posts. Thanks for those of you that have helped me when I had some questions on what size tank to start with. This is my first salt water tank. I have had many tanks in the past 30 years or so but never salt water. I just set it up about 24 hours ago.
I tested my water paratmeters and there right where they need to be as far as the PH and Salinity. My local fish store suggested that I added bacteria booster, I did. Just a few hours ago I read some things on the internet that its not really good to cycle the tank that way. It might work initially but in the long run it will do more harm than good. Does anyone have any input on that? I posted some pics with this thread. So far I'm really glad on the way the tank looks and can't wait to add some corals and fish. That brings me to another question. If the bacteria booster is good and serves the purpose it was intended for can't I add fish and coral now? If not and I still need to cycle the tank, that is OK. I really don't want to rush things. I rather do it right than make dumb mistakes by rushing the process.
Thanks in advance for any help!
