real black skimmate

just wondering if anyone else gets this through their skimmer.its so thick and black it actually looks like chips of black paint in the skimate bubbles.this is happening now since i modded my skimmer.i will show some pics when my wife brings home camera

black skimmate and Vodka dosing is very common. your nitrates and your Po4 are probably higher than you think

no im not dosing vodka..i just cleaned my tank and the filter sock also was black like carbon black...i never had that before either

I use vodka so my skimate is always black.....The only time I had my skimmate black was years ago before using vodka when i was too lazy to rinse my new carbon after replacing old.....:splitspin....other than that before i used vodka my skimate was pretty brownish....
