Is it possible that there is too much light? We have 2 1watt moonlights on our 120g. It is pretty bright, imo.. there is quiet a bit of shimmer. We have them on all night long and do not offer a period of complete darkness.

Should there be?

I guess my concern in stress on the fishes. They all seem happy though I'd like to make things best I can. Suggestions? Opinions appreciated. TIA.

Here is a picture, kind of shows how bright it is... though it is a bit brighter than pictured here...

I personally like to give the tank a period of no light, I have 4 Icecap 1watt moon lights on my tank that come on at 11pm when my lights go out until 5am in the morning then no lights on tank from 5am until 2pm

Thanks guys. I was thinking that I should transition from them being on.. to off, than on again before the actinics come on again in the morning. The actinics come on an hour before the MH right now and don't go off until after the MH have been off for an hour. Than the moonlights are already on when the actinics shut off.

Right now I have the moonlights on the same timer with my fuge light. I may have to add another timer... oh joy. lol !! In total the daytime light cycle with actinics is twelve hours.
