Help with lighting

Hello I'm new here and new to salt keeping. I have a Lunar Aqualight Deluxe Double Linear Strip and was wondering should I have the purple, white lights and leds on at the same time or should i be alternating them. As of right now ive been turning the purple and white lights on at the same time for approx. 6 hours a day. Then turn them off and turn the Moon leds on the rest of the time am i doing this right?

Kaz, welcome to MR.

I believe that is a Coralife Power Compact fixture. The purple you're referring to is actinic lighting. The whites are your daylights. Yes, those should be on at the same time. Your LED moonlights can come on after that. So you are doing things fine. LED's have such a long life, used under appropriate conditions (cooled with a fan) that there's almost no reason to shut them off. Up to you though.

Thanks for your reply I am still learning. How doe this fixture compare to some of the others? I have it on a 55g and it seems to be much better then my old light which was a cheap one that came wit the tank.

Like you said, you're getting better results than the stock fixture. I wouldn't rate it any better than that though. It is a lower grade fixture and you might consider replacement in the future when you start keeping some harder to maintain sps coral and/or clams.
