My new tank has been setup for less than 24hr and my cat already dove in!

I plan on adding a mesh top down the road, but may need to sooner.

Whats the chance my cat will do it again? We already knew she likes water and she has really bad eyesight.

It looked like she sank and didn't even try to swim out. I had to reach in and save her. Now I'm scared she may jump in when I'm not around to save her.

I'd be so sad to lose my kitty to a fish tank, after all we've been through together :kat1:

Oh my! You might have an easier time trying to train the cat to stay away from the tank altogether. I don't think there would be anything functional that would support the weight of the cat should she attempt to dive in again. :tub:

That sounds pretty bad. I don't think the mesh is a good idea.

The best solution would be to make a hood that covers the entire tank.
Better that than finding your cat dead in the tank :dead1:

In the meantime cover the tank with whatever you have to keep the cat out.
