i was wondering how come when i look at some of my coral through the front glass the colors are some times blahh. corals like purple death, some of my acans and clams.sps. even the brightest and best colors always seem a little more dull when i take a view from the front

but when i look through the top colors are amazing!!!! do i really need to get a starphire tank?

I have the same problem.. But my front glass pain is almost 12 years old and really needs to be replaced.. It looks like calcium deposits but is most like likely year of scraping algae, roots from the glass with metal blades...

House is right, its just the way the lights reflecting at you from that angle. If you ever see a cap your always going to get a highlight in color on the horizontal curves of the cap.

And starfire won't make that big of a difference. The clarity is more of a "if you have extra cash to spend then its worth it" than a "your coral will look ugly if you don't have starfire"

Sorry Jim, skimming during work.
