I going to need some help so try and bear with me on this issue. Ok I been always using really fine sand (Caribbean Sea Bahaman oolite) I like it because how clean and white it looks. But Boy does it move around a lot, my goby would but a small mouth full and it would go everywhere. So what I would like to do is try maybe something that isn?t as lose maybe something like this Check out Steve Wynter's Reef clip on http://www.reefvideos.com/ for example
Now I am a tab bit worried about how it might look since this is a big change for me. Wanted to know if anyone has or still is using coarse sand? Also would these change anything since I went fine from coarse as in if there is a difference in the sand other than look? An last question would this be more harmful to certain fish or inverts?

I had the same problem and I just kept playing around with the power heads til I get less movement on the sand. Also after a while the sand begins to stick together more and does not move around as much.

http://www.manhattanreefs.com/forum/general-discussion/56712-sugar-sized-sand-garbage.html

The above is a link to similiar thread i made. I am going to switch to "Special grade" reef sand the suger sized variety are just a diasaster. Once this stuff is in there forget about anything having to do with moving or disturbing it.

The special grade looks something like 1/3 of a grain of rice give or take with different sizes mixed in but nothing super fine. Kinda reminds me of minature rubble.
