Lets see how much more i can put in....

This is my 7.5 month old 12g JBJ nano cube tank (not cracking T.G.!), modified with a 4g refuge, 96w pc lights, surface skimmer, ice probe chiller, home made ATO system w/parts from ebay.....................

I decided on not adding a protein skimmer to the setup, I did have a sea clone looked up to cycle the tank, but took it offline after everything settled down. So far soooo good - i think?

Only 1 fish, the 6 line.
Only 1 fatality, a brain coral from Fishtown.

Esthetically I think it can be better, the frags at the bottom are temp untill i can find a better place for them. Like all pictures it looks better in person.

What do you guys/gals think?

Missy Johnson said:
looks good - watch that xenia doesn't take over your tank - might wanna keep it pruned to just one area.....

Missy, I think its already too late. It has attached to the rock and not on its only rock anymore...

Yea, great nano tank. Looks very clean. I see you take good care of the tank, huh..

Thanks guys/gals

I'll take care of the over growth of xenia, I was just holding onto alot of it until the swap meet (maybe someone can take this fast growing species for free).

Thanks Romain,
That green hairy thing of jig has intensed up in green quite a bit.
Very colorful "LARGE" addition to my small tank.
You can't see it very well in the pic cause its hanging down the entire length of that large rock.
It has split already (that green thing at the bottom is its offspring)

btw - i've already curbed anymore xenias from the main display rock by putting a thin translucent plastic between the rock and the xenia.
thanks

Romain,
I use a maxijet 600 for the refuge, minijet 404 for the hydor wavemaker (modified to prevent snails from jamming), and a minijet 606 for added circulation (pointed latitude)

The original hood mods didn't work out, way way too much heat build up even with a nice ball bearing fan running. My original plan was to have a mod hood w/84w cp lighting (3x 28w)

Also I don't think the tanks inhabitants would have survived the heatwaves we've been having w/ a closed top system (even with the chiller)

I hope this answers your question.

i just slid a piece of plastic between the rock and xenia, i've bent & shaped things as needed (its so transparent it doesn't look like its there).
oh, they have yet to stop pulsing, i must have the non-stopping, pulsing xenias.
