recirculated skimmers

have anybody try to connect an air pump directly to the air in-take to a recirculate skimmers, does it produces more bubbles

The skimmer pump is already acting as an airpump no? It's almost like powering an airpump with another airpump. If you want more bubbles maybe try either cleaning the skimmer pump or get another one?

if i connect the air in-take directly to a pump that would produces air more than the air tube, would this be better

I'm guessing that you'll probably get larger bubbles which is counter productive.

Pinwheel on the recirculating? You could try to mod that to meshwheel.

yes, it's Deltec APF600 I just got. it's doing a lot better than my EV-180 but would want to see if I can increase the bubble even more. I'm feeding it with MJ1200 (20watt) and would like to change it to MJ900 (9watt) and if i add more air to the skimmer would it make a difference. i think the recommended is only 180gph feeding rate for this

Pinwheel on the recirculating? You could try to mod that to meshwheel.

the skimmer comes with a Aquabee 2000/1

Did you check to see if the venturi opening is unobstructed?
With the skimmer running, pull the air hose off the venturi, don't worry - water will not gush out. Take a few drill bits and find one that will fit into the venuri opening and is somewhat close to the size diameter of the venturi. Twirl the drill bit into the venturi to clear any salt residue.
If the previous owner did not do this at least once a year, you can rest assured that there will be some clogging which would affect your air draw, which would affect your bubble production.

there is nothing wrong with it current or as it is now, i'm just wondering if i use an air pump would it make it produce more bubbles and more efficient in that i want to use a MJ900 (9watt) instead of MJ1200 (20watt) or open up the gate valve more to increase the flow
