review on berlin skimmer

hey guys, just want to know your opinions on the berlin turbo skimmer. is it good/bad? anything i should know about the skimmer? preventions? Mods to it? anything will help. i got one for 150 shipped. brand new hangon turbo. what you think? thanks

From what I've heard they really suck. I was going to buy one when I was upgrading, went with the AquaC ev series instead. You can look into the ASM skimmers, everyone on the board loves 'em.

I don't know what size tank it's for, but rumor has it that an Aqua C Remora is one of the best hang-on skimmers (unless you get the Deltec hang-on $$$).

that sucks. i thought i got a good deal. i have 55 gal. maybe it'll be enough for that. i'm planning on using in sump. we'll have to wait and see. thanks

You can always sell it on ebay or just see if you can get a refund. For your next skimmer, make sure you get something a little overpowered, you are going to want to upgrade with that 55 most likely, and dont want to spend more on a skimmer.

you dont think it will be sufficient enough for a 55 gal? it is rated up to 250 gal. i doubt i will upgrade the tank too cause im on the second floor. i think 55 is more than enough for the floor to hold.

I have a 90 on the 3rd floor, you can flirt with almost 180, personally wouldnt go past 140. I have never used the Berlin so I cant speak, I guess we'll have to wait and see who has used it and check out their feedback.

i currently run a Berlin Tubro hang on skimmer and i love it. I used it on my 46g tank and it ran nice and quiet and skimmed very well. 150 dollars for that is a good price, they normally run 200. It's rated for larger tanks, so it will work well on urs. I'm one of the few who like it probably
