repair broken live rock

I had a long piece that was broke by someone and I want to repair it to its original glory. I'm wondering what a good way is to do it.. I was thinking of drilling and putting rods in and putting epoxy in the holes and along the break line.

any other ideas? I tried just to epxoy on the break line but it didn't hold.. this is like a 30lb piece of rock broken on almost down the middle

I used a hammer drill masonry bit in a non-hammer drill. Some rocks put up a fight, some were super brittle (like chalk).
