I am not sure which shrimp it is exactly but it is definitely of the Palaemonidae family. Check out this link to get a better idea. If you scroll through towards the bottom of that page you will see some pics that come close to what you are looking for.

Every now and then I see the Pederson's Commensal Shrimp from the carribean.

All of these shrimp are usually found in association with an anemone. The only thing is that because most of their body is seethrough you rarely will see it in your tank.

Thanks! I wonder why they get so many differant shrimp over in Japan and we really only see the typical cleaner, blood, pistol shrimps in our stores? It didn't seem like those tanks had anenomes in them...

Here's a couple of cool links I just found to some differant shrimp (too bad you don't usually see them at the LFS- shipping is a pain in the A$$:

One thing I can say after living in Japan for 8 years is that they are a very different kind of people. When they get into something they tend to get into it obsessively. This hobby in Japan is definitely a status symbol. The demand along with the willingness to pay a high price gets people what they want over there. Unlike here in the US, in Japan there are plently of "whatever you want, Ill get it" people whith recourses beyond our imagination.

All of this combined with their meticulous ways gives us something to dream and envy!

i have to say the complicated spot lighting setups they have create really nice colors in their tanks- but man, how hard must those be to set up??? I guess I'll deal w/ my lighting kits until I can afford my 800 g cube to set up zone lighting in... :)

all right- just to keep up my own posting trend... imagine having that tank down the middle of this page!!!!!!!!!! How complicated do you have to make it? I have seen many large tanks do the 'natural' thing w/ only a ca reactor, skimmer, and large fuge- but you can't argue that it works! (sorry at work still so can't do more than post the link on reefcentral...)
