hey i dont want anything ridiculously bright since i have a 5.5g so will this do? or should i get the one with eight leds? or this there all submersible but i dont want anything overkill just nice and pleasant.

I would go with the 8 as i can just divert the extra to somewhere else if they are too bright for your taste. Looks like each one has a short wire to themselves so you can divert them to the back or something.
