i always used ball valves....the trick to keeping the valve from clogging is to use 2 layers of gutterguard and a cover on the oveflow...served me well....but my standpipe is outside the tank...so my setup is different from others...
anyways....JL...you can tee off the return...but build a manifold so you can feed your chiller/reactors..etc...less pumps to use...which means less heat..
but good to hear the airline is working....and let us see some pics ..im just guessing how yours is setup.
