sump and refugium modification.

could I pump water from my sump into my protien skimmer then into my refugium?
Kind of hard to explain my plan...but just wondering if this changes the balance of the filtration.
I would have a 33 long sump drilled at each end...one is for my pump,one for the return line from the refuguim.
I want to pump through my skimmer which will then feed my other 33 long(new refugium)drilled at one end to gravity flow back to sump.

Gonna give it a whirl and see.

it can be donejust dont use the feed pump to the fuge so the overflow can handel the water
