Any one has experience with Current USA Fission 225 g Skimmer?

I got this skimmer used from a member here. I didn't pay that much for it used. But this one is for sale on several websites for at least $230 or more new.

Beside the circulating pump attached to the skimmer, a secondary pump to pump water into the skimmer is required. I set it up in a 20g tank with clean water just to see how it works. I didn't a lot of air in the skimmer body when it ran. To have a lot of air, I had to connect the air tube to a airpump.

I thought this is very inefficient, 3 pumps for a skimmer!

Or maybe I'm missing something?

Update on Current USA Fission 225 Skimmer

To see how the skimmer actually works, I hang it to the side of my 90G tank. It turns out the skimmer works pretty well, at least in my opinion. It produces a lot of foam and consistently pushes the foam up. The key thing is you have to tweak the water level in the skimmer body and it's not that hard. I didn't have to an airpump.

The only thing I don't like is the circulation pump is very noisy and it injets a lot of micro bubbles into the tank. But I plan to run this in my sum so it should be OK.
