I was just wondering what kind of lighting everyone uses and if it was a DIY, retro kit or fully assembled light.

i currently run 4 x t5's and have tried a few bulb combonations, but they just dont produce the same colors as vho's atinics.... i'm waiting for uri to come out with their new atinic t5 bulbs, i will try them and let everyone know how they are. if i dont like them i'm definitely switching to vho's.

I bought a Coralvue 250W MH Retro from Tony @ Reef Exotics, and a 24" PC light from ebay (49.99) (2 x 55w bulbs, 1 - 12K, 1 - Ultra Actinic).

I striped the Ebay special apart, removed the endcaps, ballasts, and power and installed them into my DIY hood which I started building yesterday,

they are going on a 58gal..

i have the true blue atinics and they seem to be more purple then blue. the ones that work best for me are the blue plus bulbs. they resemble vho's the most.
