1 spoon, 8 drops (bigger bottle with a white flip cap) if you have the newer kits. the older kits are(I think, and I may be wrong) 4 drops.

How are you going to know the Ca value if you don't have the conversion chart?

Now you guys have me wondering. I have a chart but was doing instructions from memory.
I have the big flip top bottle. Are the following directions correct?
-2ml tank water
-1 spoon crazy purple stuff (CA-1)
-8 drops CA-2
-1 ml CA-3

Also I remember the instructions were a little weird with the test results. It said something like when it turns a clear blue. It never turns a clear blue, but a darker blue.

What I thought it always meant was that it starts off as pink/red & then as you add the drops it turns almost purple. Keep on addiing until it "CLEARLY" reaches a blue color. Did I misunderstand this?

Sometimes you might feel like this is not blue enough, & so let me add another drop or 2. This might skew your results.

What we really need to do is an experiment with these salifert test kits, because results might be a little subjective. We all test the same water & do this without knowing what the others results are. I am just curious to see how much of a difference there would be.

I see I am not the only one who can't sleep tonight?:D:
