I have a nice Blasto that has been growing like crazy since I put it in my tank a couple of months ago. I placed the 'stem' part into a hole in the side of my LR- it fit perfectly, but I was wondering if being 'confined' like this will limit its growth. I am not sure how blastos grow out- will this placement create problems in the future? I was wondering if it would be better to have laid it on the sand instead. Thanks!

You must mean blastomussa merlettis which grow in a branching form. As long as the "stem" was simply skeleton, it shouldn't hamper growth of the colony. As always, pictures tell a more complete story.
