While moving the tank, the back panel broke of the tank chipped and is slowing leaking.

Does anyone know any good glass aquarium maker that can replace the back panel? Thx!

I was actually trying to move the tank into the house so I don't have anything livestock in there yet. The panel is about 48"x20".

Galantra,
I am in Ridgefield, do you know anyone in the area that does this kind of job?

You can get a glass company to replace the back panel. Just give them the exact specifications of the previous back panel. Then you can strip the back off and silicone it back on. I don't see why you would have to tear down the entire tank just to reapply the back glass. Can someone give me a good reason why you would have to resilicone the entire tank?

having done this once on a 300g tank, I can't.

Can you post picture of the chip\leak?

Talk to Elos' Jesse, he should be able to order a piece of matching glass for you and a tube of silicone.

I emailed Jesse and he said that Elos uses a special adhesive for these tanks and he does not have them.

I have been unable to find any glass shops around where I live that are willing to do the repair even though I said I would give them written waiver of any liabilities..

I will take a pic and post tonight, thx!

I broke it myself so there won't be any buyer protection plan there.

I didn't ask for glass from Jesse, figured I could get low iron/ or regular from any glass shop around since it is just the back panel.

You could always call Elos and see if they would send you a tube of their "special" adhesive. I think black silicon would be probably do a good enough job though. I mean what can it hurt right?

Hmmm it looks like you may have cracked the side panel of glass as well and maybe the bottom pane. Maybe you could get them to send you just a new aquarium since everything else will be in working order.

I am going to take off the back panel and see what's the damage to the other panels.

A new tank seems like might be the only option...
