According to your tank size, we recommend you to use 4 sets of 36" typical fixtures to provide fully-covered light.
Although the largest length of our fixtures now available is 48", but this will not be suitable for your need!
The size of a 36" typical fixture is 36"x7"x2", and since the lighting angle of the LED lamps is 120 degree,
two fixtures can provide light that is enough for a tank with width of 24".
So, 4 sets (two on the right half side and another two on the left half side) are recommeded!

As for the price, one 36" typical fixture costs $470 USD, and the shipping from Taiwan to NYC will charge additional $130 USD.
So, for one fixture with shipping, it will cost you $600 USD. If you decide to buy 4 sets, we can offer you 10% off discount for the fixture price.
The total price after discount will be: (470 USD/sets x 4 sets x 0.9)+(130 USD/sets x 4sets) = 2,212 USD

My price:
As for the price, one 36" typical fixture costs $470 USD, and the shipping from Taiwan to NYC will charge additional $130 USD.

I got different pricing from them too. they charged me less for the fixture but more for shipping.

You have seen on in my booth last swap but you did not check it out as I think the look is too funny for you to really care LOL.

The 90W Rice Cooker LED pedant was only $550. Do you remember the two round LED pedants that hang at the back wall? One of them is actually red/blue while the other is Blue/White. Anyway, so sad, it comes with only a single plug. LOL

Wingo, did you start using 1.25w LED's all of a sudden? I thought your LED's were 1w. Hence my comment about it being the best pricing for LED's. We need to compare apples to apples, not oranges.

we must keep in mind the difference in money value.... what the difference is today in value might be different tommorow...

who ever is a "money market" trader pls advise when would be best to purchase to spend less.....

Wingo, did you start using 1.25w LED's all of a sudden? I thought your LED's were 1w. Hence my comment about it being the best pricing for LED's. We need to compare apples to apples, not oranges.

My Lights uses 1W, 3W, 30W, 50W emitters.

Working on a 80W emitter now.

I just read all the posts talking about the different pricing issue. As a customer of ThorTek products in Taiwan, I really feel shock and confused about their weird behavior. I am quite familiar to the general manager of ThorTek (since I have purchased five sets of different sizes from them already!).

I just made a call and asked him about those different prices quotated to different persons. He told me that, the man in charge with the online (e-mail) service of quotation is not him self but his employee actually. He admit that they are working out for finding a cheapest shipping way for customers. That is why the shipping fee quoted yesterday may differ from that quoted today. He want to say sorry to those who have been quoted these days. As for the price of optical lens, the actual price for lens which are most suitable for optimum effect is $2 USD/lens. Those $1.5 USD ones are feasible but not the best choice.

I was also informed that they are now contacting with some possible distributors or wholesalers in US (or NY). If they have decided a wholesaler there, service for the product warranty will be carried out efficiently. One important thing is that they decide to stop quoting to end users who directly contact to them from now. A formal distributor or wholesaler in US will be soon available. The retail price in US will be decided by their US wholesaler.

I was asked by the general manager of ThorTek to post these information here since he did not register as a member here in ManhattanReefs. He want to say sorry to those who have contacted them before. That's all!

As a customer of ThorTek products, and a friend of ThorTek general manager, I was quite upset to see this happen. Well, the fixtures are still great to me! But I think they really need to apologize for their mistakes already made! That is what I think!

Hello Thane!
We have no instrument for the PAR measurement, sorry! We have a test fixture in operation for 2 years already (at least 7300 hours), the measurement of lumen shows no decrease of the light intensity. According to our LED lamp supplier, the maximum drop off rate is 10% per 10000 hours for the LED lamps. Our recently available products are not designed to be dimmable. We are now working out on the controller with timer function, products now available can be upgraded to time controllable with the controller coming in the future.We can adjust the ratio of white/blue lamps to fit different applications.The retail price in US will be soon made public by our wholesaler (dealer) when we have one there!
